What is pick'em, and how is it different from a sportsbook bet?
Pick'em is a daily fantasy sports contest: you pick two or more player stat projections, call each one higher or lower, and win a multiple of your entry fee if enough of them are right. PrizePicks lineups need picks from at least two different teams.
A sportsbook bet is a wager against the house at posted odds under a state sports betting license. Underdog's legal center posts sportsbook terms for North Carolina only, under a license from the North Carolina State Lottery Commission, for bettors 21 and older. Pick'em promos pay bonus entries rather than the bet credits explained in our guide to how bonus bets work.
PrizePicks Power Play vs Flex Play: how do the payouts compare with Underdog?
PrizePicks Power Play pays only when every pick is right, and Flex Play still pays with one or two misses at lower multipliers. PrizePicks lists standard Power Play payouts of 3x for 2 picks, 6x for 3, 10x for 4, 20x for 5 and 37.5x for 6. Flex Play pays 25x for 6 of 6, 2x for 5 of 6 and 0.4x for 4 of 6, and 10x for 5 of 5 or 2x for 4 of 5.
Underdog's standard and Flex entries work the same way. Its Pick'em rules list standard payouts of 3.5x for 2 picks, 6.5x for 3, 12x for 4, 20x for 5 and 35x for 6, up to 120x for 8 picks. Flexed entries pay 25x for 6 of 6 with 2.6x for one miss and 0.25x for two, and 10x for 5 of 5 with 2.5x for one miss.
These are base rates that can change. Demon and Goblin picks, same-game picks, alternate projections and promotions all move the multiplier, and each app shows your actual payout before you pay.
- Ties and players who do not play: PrizePicks drops a lineup to the next smaller size, and Underdog does the same for Flex entries, so a 3-pick Flex pays like a 2-pick standard entry.
- PrizePicks groups each lineup with members of similar experience; the top score in the group can win a larger Max Payout.
- Underdog's Pick'em Champions, offered in some states instead of Classic, is peer-to-peer: Underdog says fewer winning entries can mean higher payouts and more winners can lower them.
Standard payout when every pick is right
What are the PrizePicks and Underdog promo offers right now?
The PrizePicks promo for new customers, as of October 23, 2026, is $150 in Bonus Lineups if your first qualifying lineup wins: at least $5 of real money, with Player Picks, after your first deposit. Bonus Lineups have no cash value and may be voided if not used within 7 days, and the offer ends December 31, 2026. Using Early Payout on that first lineup cancels the reward. PrizePicks' offer terms do not mention a promo code.
Underdog lets new users choose one welcome offer. Its help center lists Play $10, Get $50 in bonus entries; Play $5, Get 5 free Rips card packs; or a deposit match of 50% up to $1,000 in states with fantasy and prediction markets, or 25% up to $250 in states with prediction markets only. Underdog's homepage advertises play $5, get $50 and the code UDPROMO, while its promotion rules require a $10 entry for Play and Get, so check the offer the app shows you. Underdog's rules give 14 days to meet the play-through on Play and Get and deposit match bonus funds, and a deposit match needs a deposit of at least $10.
Neither offer is withdrawable cash. The bonus value calculator estimates what a bonus is worth, and our bonus conversion pages cover sportsbook offers.
Note the bonus clocks the day you sign up: PrizePicks Bonus Lineups may be voided after 7 days, and Underdog gives 14 days for play-through. doddo's Money Inbox lists sportsbook and prediction-market offers with their deadlines next to each one; new doddo accounts are on a waitlist for now. Set a deposit limit in the app if you need one, and responsible gaming help is there if play stops being fun.

Every Underdog pick'em state is also a PrizePicks Player Picks state. PrizePicks also offers Player Picks in New York, Maine and Massachusetts, where Underdog has no pick'em. In New York, PrizePicks notes an ongoing review by the state Gaming Commission, so some leagues and stat types may not be offered.

Underdog's homepage says you must be 18, or 19 in Alabama and Nebraska, 19 in Colorado for some games, and 21 in Arizona and Virginia; a second notice on the same page lists Arizona and Massachusetts, so confirm in the app. Underdog's North Carolina sportsbook requires 21. We frame this guide for readers 21 and older in an eligible state.
How do deposits and withdrawals work at PrizePicks and Underdog?
Both apps set a $10 minimum deposit and a $1 minimum entry. PrizePicks takes debit cards, instant bank transfer and Apple Pay, plus PayPal, Venmo and credit cards for Player Picks only. Underdog takes Trustly bank transfers, PayPal, Venmo, credit cards and Apple Pay.
PrizePicks withdraws to your verified bank account by default, or to PayPal, Venmo, Apple Pay or a debit card you have deposited with. The minimum withdrawal is $10, you get one successful withdrawal per 24 hours, and bank-transfer deposits have a 72-hour hold. PrizePicks' terms say processing may take up to five business days, or ten if tax paperwork is required.
Underdog withdraws to a debit card, Venmo or PayPal you have deposited with, or to a bank through Trustly. PayPal withdrawals are typically processed within 24 to 72 hours and Trustly within 24 to 48 hours, and a Trustly payout then lands instantly or within 1 to 3 business days.
Do PrizePicks and Underdog run prediction markets or a sportsbook?
Yes, both now sell prediction-market contracts next to pick'em. PrizePicks Team Picks and Culture Picks are event contracts from Performance Predictions II, LLC d/b/a PrizePicks Predict, a CFTC-registered futures commission merchant and NFA member. Culture Picks are offered in more states than Player Picks, including Michigan, Ohio and Pennsylvania.
Underdog's Prediction Picks are event contracts offered through Underdog Exchange, which Underdog describes as a CFTC-regulated exchange. Its state eligibility page lists Prediction Picks in 46 states plus D.C., but not in Arizona, Michigan, Nevada or New York. Our list of prediction market apps compares the standalone exchanges.
Do you pay taxes on PrizePicks and Underdog winnings?
PrizePicks sends a Form 1099-MISC to members with $600 or more in net winnings in a calendar year from Player Picks and other non-contract picks, and a Form 1099-B for any Team or Culture Picks. Underdog says it sends a 1099 to users with $2,000 or more in net profit for 2026, up from $600 in earlier years. Neither app gives tax advice.
