PREDICTION MARKETS · APP COMPARISON

The best prediction market apps in 2026, compared on published terms

Prediction market apps look alike until you read their terms, and the differences sit in four places: who regulates the exchange, how the fee is calculated, what the signup credit terms say and which states are limited. This guide compares eight apps that serve US users on those published facts instead of opinion, all checked on October 11, 2026 against each app's own pages. It gives no ratings and no scores. It describes the apps and does not recommend trades.

THE SHORT ANSWER

A signup credit is not cash. On Polymarket US, FanDuel Predicts and Novig the credit cannot be withdrawn, only winnings above it, and it expires in as little as a day. Of the eight prediction market apps checked on October 11, 2026, seven trade on CFTC-designated exchanges or through CFTC-registered brokers, and PredictIt runs under a no-action letter. Fees on 100 contracts at 50 cents run from $0 to $2.00.

Before you take part. 18+ or the higher age required in your jurisdiction. Eligible locations only. Trading can lose your entire stake. Promotional credits cannot be withdrawn directly.

Verify your eligibility and the exact reward rules before funding an account. Fees, price changes, liquidity and settlement can affect the result. Estimates are illustrations, not guaranteed cash or investment advice. The platform’s current terms control.

If you use a partner link, doddo may earn a commission.

    $0 pre-game · $0.75 to $1.50 live

    • No fee on pre-game straight trades.
    • Bank transfers and stablecoin deposits are free.
    • Signup terms are posted in full.

    Watch for

    • Sports only, 21 or older, and not in Arizona, Nevada or Michigan.
    • Card and Apple Pay deposits cost 3%.
    • Credits work at 1¢ to 60¢, one per trade, and expire in 30 days.
    Visit Novig

Is a prediction market signup credit cash?

No. A signup credit is promotional trading value, not money you deposited. It can open positions and pay fees, but on the apps that publish the rule you cannot withdraw the credit itself, only winnings above it. Polymarket US spends your own cash before its credit. FanDuel Predicts spends your deposit first unless you select the bonus on the trade slip. Four questions decide what a credit is worth: can you withdraw it, when does it expire, what spends first, and what must you do to earn it.

If a page quotes one Kalshi signup amount for everyone, it is not coming from Kalshi's help center. Kalshi's referral program FAQ says amounts vary by offer and appear under Your rewards in the app. doddo's bonus value calculator estimates sportsbook promos. For trading credits, see the Kalshi and Polymarket US pages.

How are these prediction market apps ordered?

The order sorts published facts. It is not a rating, and no app has a score. Apps where you hold an account with the exchange itself come first, then CFTC-registered brokers that route to exchanges, then PredictIt, which has no CFTC designation. Within each group, a lower fee on 100 contracts at 50 cents comes first. Ties go to the app with posted signup terms, then to the one with a published state list, then alphabetical. The CFTC list shows each exchange's designation.

What is the best prediction market app for a beginner?

No app leads on every published fact, so the best prediction market app depends on which fact matters to you. Where an app leads, it is named here:

  • Lowest published fee at 50 cents: Novig, at $0 on pre-game sports (Novig's fees). Beyond sports, Polymarket US charges $1.74 and Kalshi and Crypto.com $1.75 (Polymarket US, Kalshi).
  • Signup offers with the rules written out: Polymarket US, $25 after a $10 deposit (programs), FanDuel Predicts, up to $100 through October 20, 2026 (terms), and Novig, $50 for a $10 deposit (terms).
  • Stated availability: FanDuel Predicts says all 50 states and DC, and DraftKings Predictions posts a market map by state.
  • Political markets without a per-trade fee: PredictIt, the one app here without a CFTC designation.
  • Trading from an account you already have: Robinhood (help center).

Which prediction market apps are available in your state?

Age and location come first. Every app here is 18 or older except Novig, which is 21, and Crypto.com states no minimum age on its prediction pages. Polymarket US also requires you to have reached the age of majority in your state. Court orders in Washington (August 13, 2026) and Michigan (September 2, 2026) limit Kalshi's contracts, and Kalshi is enjoined in Nevada, per the Nevada attorney general's June 3, 2026 release. In Massachusetts the attorney general has sued Kalshi; check the current status. Wisconsin has also sued Kalshi, Robinhood, Crypto.com and Polymarket, which is not a court order. The other apps publish their own limits in the table above. Apps check where you are when you trade.

If Kalshi is limited where you are, the Kalshi alternatives guide sorts the other apps by state, fee and funding. Polymarket US's state cases, including Nevada's announcement and the lawsuits in Wisconsin, Kentucky and New York, are in Is Polymarket legit?, and How does Polymarket work? explains its deposits and withdrawals.

How much does a prediction market charge on a $50 trade?

On 100 contracts at 50 cents you put in $50. Kalshi's $1.75 fee is 3.5% of that and a $2.00 fee is 4%. Other prices change the math. At 10 cents you put in $10, so Kalshi's $0.63 is 6.3% of the stake, while FanDuel Predicts' two cents per dollar of payout is still $2.00, or 20%.

Formulas that shrink toward 1 cent and 99 cents, like Kalshi's, Polymarket US's, Crypto.com's, Novig's and Robinhood's commission, cost less at those prices. A flat charge does not. Run your own price in the Kalshi fee calculator.

What are the risks of using a prediction market app?

Trading can lose the whole stake, including your deposit and fees. A credit does not change that, and a state order can limit what an app offers where you live. If it stops feeling like a choice, see responsible gaming resources.

How does doddo help with signup credits?

We make doddo, a free web app that tracks published signup credit terms for Kalshi and Polymarket US. It shows each credit's withdrawal rule and an estimate of usable value, labeled as an estimate. doddo is not a prediction market. It does not trade for you, hold your money or ask for your passwords, and it is web only and US only. Novig is on hold. New accounts are on a waitlist, so start a check to join it. The prediction markets hub has the details.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best prediction market app?

No single app leads on every published fact. Novig has the lowest fee on pre-game sports ($0), Polymarket US posts a fixed offer with its rules ($25 after a $10 deposit), FanDuel Predicts states availability in all 50 states and DC, and PredictIt covers political markets without a per-trade fee.

Are prediction market apps legal in the US?

Seven of the eight apps trade on CFTC-designated exchanges or through CFTC-registered brokers, and PredictIt operates under a CFTC no-action letter. Courts in Washington, Michigan and Nevada have still limited some Kalshi contracts, and Massachusetts and Wisconsin have sued Kalshi. This is not legal advice.

Is a prediction market signup credit the same as cash?

No. On Polymarket US, FanDuel Predicts and Novig the credit cannot be withdrawn, only winnings above it, and credits expire in 1 to 30 days on the offers checked. Kalshi's terms depend on the offer.

What is the Kalshi signup bonus?

Kalshi publishes no single amount. Its help center says amounts vary by offer and appear under Your rewards, that rewards may be issued as trading credits with withdrawal restrictions, and that you can add a referral code within 72 hours of creating your account.

How much do prediction market apps charge in fees?

On 100 contracts at 50 cents: Novig $0 pre-game, Polymarket US $1.74, Kalshi and Crypto.com $1.75, and DraftKings Predictions, FanDuel Predicts and Robinhood (up to) $2.00. PredictIt charges 10% of profits instead.

Do you pay taxes on prediction market winnings?

Generally yes. IRS Publication 525 says income is taxable in most cases unless the law specifically exempts it. Kalshi says it issues forms such as 1099-MISC for credits and rewards when IRS thresholds are met. Ask a tax professional how your results are treated.
