Taker fee: 0.0695 × 100 × 0.50 × 0.50 = $1.7375, rounded to the nearest cent (halves to even) = $1.74. Estimate from the published fee schedules, for one order held to settlement; selling early is a second trade with its own fee.

How is the Polymarket US fee calculated, and what is the maker rebate?
Polymarket US charges takers 0.0695 × contracts × price × (1 − price), with the price in dollars from $0.01 to $0.99, when an order fills right away against an order already on the book. On 100 contracts at 50 cents that is 0.0695 × 100 × 0.50 × 0.50 = $1.7375, which rounds to $1.74. Fees round to the nearest cent, and an exact half goes to the even cent, so $17.375 on 1,000 contracts at 50 cents becomes $17.38. The fee is largest near 50 cents and shrinks toward 1 and 99 cents. It applies only when a trade executes: canceled, expired and rejected orders cost nothing.
A maker order rests on the book until someone else fills it. Until 1 PM ET on October 19, 2026, Polymarket US pays it a rebate of 0.0125 × contracts × price × (1 − price), rounded the same way, so $0.31 back on 100 contracts at 50 cents. From then, the maker rebate depends on your maker volume in the prior calendar month: none below $10 million, then 0.0035, 0.0070 or 0.0104 × the same formula. The calculator applies the rebate until that time and none after it. Combo markets pay no maker rebate and use their own taker curve, contracts × price × [0.0695 × (1 − price) + 0.06 × (1 − price)⁴], and Table Tennis markets use 0.10 in place of 0.0695. Takers with $250,000 or more of volume in the prior month also earn part of their fees back (10%, 25% or 50% until October 19, then 3% to 30%), which this calculator does not model.
Each contract pays $1 if the outcome happens and nothing if it does not, so a price of 40 cents means a contract costs $0.40 and pays $1. The payout is $1 × contracts. Total cost is the price × contracts plus the fee. Profit if right is the payout minus the total cost, the loss if wrong is the total cost, and the break-even probability is total cost ÷ payout. This calculator treats every dollar as your own money. Signup and referral credits are not cash, and trading can lose your whole stake.
The calculator prices one order held to settlement. It does not check live prices, order book depth, limits, your state or whether a market is open, and selling before settlement is a second trade with its own fee. Polymarket US raised the taker coefficient from 0.05 to 0.06 on July 1, 2026 and to 0.0695 on September 17, 2026, so confirm the rate in the app before you rely on a number.
Frequently asked questions
How do I calculate Polymarket payout and profit?
Each winning contract pays $1, so the payout is $1 × contracts. Profit if right is that payout minus the price you paid and the fee. For 100 contracts at 40 cents as a taker, the fee is $1.67, the total cost is $41.67, the payout is $100 and the profit is $58.33, with a break-even probability of 41.67%.
How much is the Polymarket fee on 100 contracts?
For a taker order on a standard market, the Polymarket US fee page lists $0.07 at 1 or 99 cents, $0.63 at 10 cents, $1.30 at 25 or 75 cents and $1.74 at 50 cents. Until 1 PM ET on October 19, 2026, a resting maker order earns $0.31 back at 50 cents. Table Tennis takers pay $25.00 on 1,000 contracts at 50 cents.
How does the Polymarket US maker rebate work?
Until 1 PM ET on October 19, 2026, a maker order rests on the order book and earns 0.0125 × contracts × price × (1 − price) when it fills, credited at the fill: $0.31 on 100 contracts at 50 cents and $0.11 at 10 cents. From then, the rebate is set by your maker volume in the prior calendar month, with none below $10 million and 0.0035 to 0.0104 above it. Combo fills carry no maker rebate either way.
Does Polymarket US charge a fee when a contract wins or when you withdraw?
The fee page says fees apply only when a trade executes. Polymarket US describes withdrawals as free, and they go back to the method you deposited with once that deposit has fully cleared, typically 3 to 4 business days.
Does this calculator work for polymarket.com?
No. It prices Polymarket US, the CFTC-regulated app for US users. The international polymarket.com has its own category rates, between 0.04 and 0.07 with no fee on geopolitics markets, and its geoblock page lists the United States as close-only, so US users cannot open new positions there.
Why might the Polymarket US app show a slightly different fee?
When one order fills against several resting orders, Polymarket US adjusts each fill's charge so the total never exceeds the rounding of the exact combined fee, and the adjustments only lower it. This calculator rounds the whole order once. Tiered taker rebates are not modeled either, so the amount the app shows is the one that counts.
